China Southern Airlines Henan Company Limited is Officially Operated

On 19th September, China Southern Airlines Henan Company Limited launching ceremony was held in Zhengzhou Airport. This joint venture company is established by Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as HNCA) and China Southern Airlines Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Southern Airlines), which symbolizes the sailing of Henan local Airlines, and opens a new historic page of Henan civil aviation economy. It is a big event for HNCA, following the opening of Zhengzhou-Luxembourg international air cargo route. At this point, HNCA has “a pair of wings” of passenger and cargo business.

The Vice Governor of Henan Province Zhao Jiancai attended the ceremony and made remarks. The participants include: the Assistant of Henan Provincial Governor An Huiyuan, the General Manager of China Southern Airlines Group, Chairman of China Southern Airlines Company Limited Si Xianmin, the Director of CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration Zhou Yizhou, the Chairman of HNCA Zhang Mingchao, the General Manager and Deputy Chairman of HNCA Liu Jianbao and other members of the leadership team in HNCA. The ceremony is hosted by the Chairman of China Southern Airlines Henan Company Limited Xu Jiebo.

China Southern Airlines Henan Company Limited takes Zhengzhou Airport as the main operation base, with registered capital of 6 billion, in which HNCA holding 40% shares and China Southern Airlines holding 60% shares. According to the planning of the two sides of the joint venture, the new company will give full play to the advantage of the two parties, increase the market share of China Southern Airlines in Zhengzhou Airport and further enhance the transport capacity of Zhengzhou Airport.

The passenger and cargo business will provide new development opportunities for HNCA.  In January this year, HNCA and Cargolux signed the Shares Purchase Agreement. Since June, Zhengzhou –Luxembourg international air cargo route has been opened, which builds Air Silk Road between the two hubs from China to Europe and promotes Zhengzhou to the target of becoming International Freight Hub. Successful cooperation with China Southern Airlines will give full play to the advantage of China Southern Airlines Henan Company Limited as a passenger base company, and promote the construction of regional passenger transport hub in Henan and the development of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone.
